“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.”
– Lao Tzu
Drama encourages pupils to work in groups demonstrating excellent communication skills, whilst developing their confidence and encouraging them to take responsibility for their own learning. Extra-curricular activities are an inclusive part of the department including a range of activities for all ages and abilities during Friday afternoon 'options' and after school. We ensure all pupils have the right to participate, enjoy and ultimately succeed. The department aims to present a production each Autumn Term; focusing on developing the childrens' confidence to speak in public, along with the opportunity to work as part of a team.
Drama also aims to give our pupils the skills to express their feelings and emotions through the tasks in lessons. Drama aims to improve the social skills of our children; some of whom struggle with this vital life skill. Through the teaching of drama, we aim to encourage our pupils to develop these skills and in turn, use them to enhance their potential to achieve in other subjects.
